A Strong Start for Chatham County Students & Teachers

As a new school year begins across Chatham County, the BOLD Foundation is helping make sure local students and teachers have the supplies they need for a strong start.

This August, the Foundation assembled and donated school supply kits for more than 120 students in grades K–5. Each kit included classroom essentials such as notebooks, pencils, highlighters, tissues, erasers, and laptop cases, giving students the tools they need from their very first day.

This year, the Foundation was also able to fulfil all of the school’s classroom wish list items. Teachers received bulk supplies they can use throughout the year, including paper towels, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, tissues, erasers, and other everyday classroom necessities.

The effort was made possible through funding from the BOLD Foundation along with generous community donations collected during Governors Club Realty’s Sip & Shred event in April. Guests were invited to bring school supplies to contribute to the drive, helping extend the impact of the Foundation’s donation even further.

Employees from across the BOLD family of companies then came together to sort supplies, pack the student kits, and prepare everything for delivery. The donations were brought directly to the school, where staff helped unload and receive the supplies on behalf of their students and teachers.

For the BOLD Foundation, the annual school supply drive is about supporting the people who make Chatham County schools and classrooms thrive. By helping students arrive prepared and giving teachers additional resources for the year ahead, the Foundation hopes to make the start of school a little easier for local families and educators alike.
