This spring, the BOLD Team got to volunteer setting up for the 20th anniversary of ClydeFest, an annual carnival in Bynum, NC, that features the rustic, chain-sawed sculptures of folk art legend Clyde Jones. Sun and blue skies were all around as BOLD volunteers assembled stages, large lawn games, and fair tents on the Bynum Ballfield. We enjoyed the opportunity to work together, helping to spread joy and excitement to the many families who would visit ClydeFest the next day.
Miles Rogers, a former high school theater stage director turned BOLD Construction Manager, especially liked volunteering in his first Bold Foundation service project since it involved putting together sets and props. He said he has worked for many companies that have given lip service about giving back to the community but never managed to get it done. “I can’t appreciate enough that we take the time to do this.” Looking forward to doing this again next year with event sponsor Chatham Arts Council!
