BOLD Donates to Chatham Education Foundation

BOLD Foundation proudly supports the Chatham Education Foundation's "Books on Break" program, which provides free, new books to students throughout Chatham County's most economically disadvantaged schools.

Jaime Detzi, Executive Director of the CEF, notes that 2/3rds of low-income families have few if any books in their homes. The goal is to improve that in Chatham County, and the program is making great strides to do so.

Books on Break is funded by a variety of grants and sponsors, including BOLD Foundation, Allen Tate Realtors, Central Electric, and Duke Energy.

In addition to a monetary donation, BOLD Foundation purchased more than 500 books for the program.

Chris Ehrenfeld, CEO & Visionary of BOLD Companies, stressed the importance of kids having books in their homes. "The books BOLD purchased focused on financial literacy and positive mindset," Ehrenfeld said. "We wanted to make sure the books were engaging enough for students to pick up and read, but also provided a foundation for skills to succeed in life."

This year, the Books on Break program distributed more than 14,000 books to 2,200 students throughout Chatham County. For more information about the program, visit chathameducationfoundation.org.
