Jim Merritt, a long-time Chapel Hill resident, Vietnam Veteran, Civil Rights Activist, and former Town Council member. He, along with Retired Veteran Lee Heavlin, received the donation on behalf of the Orange County Veteran’s Memorial. The Bold team walked the property of the future site of the Veteran’s Memorial, which is located on the Orange County Human Services Campus. Jim Merritt said, “This memorial will be a legacy, not just for the veterans of Orange County, but for all veterans everywhere.” Bold Foundation founder Chris Ehrenfeld responded, “We are happy to contribute to something that will have a lasting impact in the community, and we couldn’t think of a better person to partner with than Jim Merritt.”
