On February 24th, employees from the BOLD Companies partnered with the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill to provide comfort and support to families with sick children. Over 20 volunteers spent the day moving 37 mattresses and box springs into the house to make the living spaces more comfortable for the families staying there.
Volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill is an excellent way to support families during their child's medical treatment. Volunteers can help with housekeeping, serve meals to families, or assist with administrative tasks. There are also opportunities to provide specialized services, such as gardening, transportation, or entertainment for the families.
What is the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill?
The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill is a non-profit organization that provides a home away from home for families of critically ill children receiving treatment at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. Since its establishment in 1988, the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill has hosted over 41,000 families from across North Carolina and beyond.
The house has 53 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, designed to make families feel at home during their stay. In addition to comfortable beds, the house also features a communal kitchen, dining room, and living spaces where families can relax and connect with other families who are going through similar experiences.
Staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill is free for families, but the organization relies on donations and volunteers to keep the house running. Donations of goods and services, such as toiletries and laundry detergent, are always appreciated. Additionally, spreading the word about the Ronald McDonald House and its mission can help raise awareness and support.
